2023 Archie School Board Candidates

Elections are coming up soon and it’s important to know who you are voting for when you are at the poll booth. This article will give you a short description of each candidate running for the 2023 Archie School Board.

What Day Do You Vote?

April 4th, 2023. Usually from 6am – 7pm.


Name: Mark Houchen

Mark has lived in Archie since 1980 and graduated from there in 1991. He has two children currently attending Archie School: a Junior and an 8th grader.

Mark decided to run for a position on the school board because he would like to have first hand input in the decisions being made that affect the education and opportunities of his children as well as all children in the district.



Name: Jeremy R. Pettet

Jeremy has lived in Archie for around 34 years. He is a graduate from Archie School and currently has two children in the district: a Sophomore and 3rd Grader.

Jeremy is passionate about ensuring the kids in Archie have every opportunity they need and deserve to become successful; this includes having the best teachers, and having a safe environment to learn in. 


Name: Julie Smith

Julie has lived in Archie for 13 years with her husband who is an Archie Alumni. They have four children currently in the district: two Seniors, a Junior and a 6th grader.

Julie has been serving on the board for 4-years now. She is actively involved in every opportunity she can to participate in from events, games, concessions stand, FFA, Booster club and many more. She cares deeply for the teachers and administrators and wants the best educational outcome for all involved. She would love the chance to continue to help preserve the quality of the school district along with improving student achievements.


Name: Ryan Grimes

Ryan is a life-long resident of Archie and has been serving on the School Board for 15 years now. He is an Alumni and has had two children go through the Archie School District.

Ryan believes that Archie has a great school with fantastic teachers and staff. The school is the center-point of the community and he believes that the school’s success is the community’s success. He would love to continue advocating for the needs and opportunities of the students and teachers if he is re-elected.


Name: Chad Reynolds

Chad is a life-long resident of Archie and currently has two children enrolled in the school: a 7th grader and a 10th grader.

Chad has a vested interest in preserving and improving the quality of the school. He desires to be an advocate for not only the children and the families in the district, but also the educators and administrators in the school system. That is an essential priority for him. He believes that the school district should focus on recruiting and retaining top-notch educators and administrators to provide Archie students with the education they deserve. If elected as a school board member, Chad wants to help build collaborative relationships and maintain effective communication with staff and community stakeholders.


Name: William C Stevenson

William has lived in Archie for 3.6 years now and currently has a 6th grader enrolled in the school.

William is running for School Board because he wants to make a positive impact for the community, the Archie School District, and his son. He has seen many areas for improvement and better utilization of resources. His desire is to help make those improvements a reality for the benefit of everyone.
