Back in Time
- Did you know, the city of Archie was founded in the summer of 1880. In April of that year, 100 teams of horses were used to prepare the road bed and lay the tracks for the rail. By August, the new railroad stretched from south Harrisonville to within 8-miles of Butler. The superintendent of the railroad, H.C. Talmage, named this new depot and town after his youngest son, Archie Talmage.
